World Day

The first World Day for the End of Speciesism took place on 22 August 2015. In many countries, we denounced the ideology allowing to disregard the interests of animals simply because they are part of another species. As part of this international day, the PEA organization – Pour l’Egalité Animale (For Animal Equality) – organized a peaceful March for the End of Speciesism in Geneva. Meetings and discussions were also held as part of the March on 21, 22 and 23 August. Visit our calendar or this Facebook page for details concerning these past events.

A photo gallery is available at the bottom of this page.

Marches were also held in Toronto and Montreal (Canada), Los Angeles (USA), Zagreb (Croatia). Other actions were organized in a number of cities in France (Bordeaux), Russia, Georgia, Belgium, etc.

The 2016 march will take place on 27 August. More information will follow here and on the JMFS website.

For animals

Animals are sentient beings in their own right, feeling emotions, preferences, desires, with an interest in living the longest and happiest lives possible. Through this event we will ask that the lives and interests of animals are truly taken into account in our society and that we stop considering them as a simple resource. Discover the detailed claims of this event.

Injustices of the past, such as slavery and the low status assigned to women, have been abolished or reduced. They too were so embedded in the collective consciousness that they were thought to be eternal. But history has shown the opposite and we can easily imagine that one day slaughterhouses will be deemed to be a symbol of barbarism. More and more of us are beginning to take a stand against injustice towards animals, which has become one of the most important societal debates of our time.

The World Day for the End of Speciesism aims to denounce the unfair ideology which enables barbarity towards animals.
We are working towards a world that takes into consideration life and the interests of all beings. This world is already underway. Let us all work together to make this happen at the earliest!

The animals need you to participate in the next historic day, on Saturday 27 August 2016! The 2016 marches program is in progress, and you can save the date in your calendar, organize an event in your town, or even join one!
